What Accounting and Law Firms Can Learn From Each Other
David Woolstencroft interviews Alan Fitzgerald, CTO of Practice Connections Advisory.
With both having worked across the accounting and legal industries, they discuss what is happening in the sectors and point out some of the differences in the professions, including the technology in play.
Alan reveals that one of his clients had grown by 42%, gaining 642 clients during the last two years of the pandemic. What was the key to the success? Alan also states that there are small gaps that prevent firms from growing their business and client bases further while lamenting how innovation and technology impact employee well-being.
Interestingly, David points out that there are more business development and client management software solutions in the legal sector, as the legal services providers do not necessarily have the same proportion of a recurring business when compared to the accounting services sector.
Moving forward, they uncover how the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning will shape the professional services sectors. And importantly, they broach the topic of succession planning and how technology impacts the endgame?
